Join local mosaic artist Rhona Duffy for mosaic wreath making workshop and create a playful mixed-media artwork for your home or garden.
In this one-day workshop, you’ll create a mixed-media mosaic wreath using stained glass, Italian smalti and mosaic tiles. You can choose from a range of glass colours for the flower – you could make a ponsietta if you are fond of the festive season or one to enjoy all year round! You’ll enjoy immersing yourself in the flow of mosaic creation as you create the basket weave effect. You’ll leave with a timeless and durable mosaic wreath to enjoy in your own home for years to come – or you might like to gift it to a loved one.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll also learn about materials suitable for exterior mosaics plus which tools – and how to use them – to cut mosaic and glass. Rhona will also teach you how to use tile adhesive to adhere your mosaic in a way that eliminates the need for grout.
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and intermediate levels. So whether you’re brand new to mosaics, or if you’ve been to a previous workshop and would like to further develop your skills, you’re very welcome. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where, not only will you develop or hone your mosaic skills, but you’ll also have an enjoyable day out!
