Introduce some new techniques into your drawing practice, whether you’re a beginner or have an established drawing practice wanting to shake things up or just looking for a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Experimental drawing techniques, great for beginners as well as professionals looking to shake things up. In previous years this class and techniques has been very popular with those trying to get back into drawing after retirement or years away from it.

The technqiues are designed to encourage us to let go of perfection and embrace the shapes our hands and bodies naturally make. Technqiues introduced in the class will challenge our ideas of what drawing is and what drawing can be, with a range of materials available for participants to experiment with also.

Katie McGroarty (she/her) has been leading and facilitating classes since 2013, has an undergraduate in Intermedia BA (Hons) with a focus on experimental drawing, as well as an MFA in Arts and Humanities where she also used experimental drawing techniques.

Katie’s mission as well as her own practice is to destigmatise the arts and have people embrace their creativity even if it is for fun rather than for a career, everyone is entitled to their creativity and noone should feel like the arts are not for them.
