About this course
Led by Stitchery Founder Cassandra Belanger, this 3-hour taster is designed to give you an introduction to the wonderful world of sewing. This taster session will equip you with foundational skills that can be applied to a range of projects. The setting for this session is the relaxing, social atmosphere of The Stitchery Studio as part of The Stitchery’s Festive Open Studio weekend. Visit our studio, try out a sewing taster session and browse the fabrics and finds from our creative friends and neighbours.
Learn how to use a sewing machine; learn about sewing terminology and practice stitches and seams. Then harness your newfound skills to create either a pin cushion or needle book to be treasured forever in your sewing kit.
Skill Level & Sewing Machines
This is a Pure Beginner level course, which means it’s suitable for absolute beginners, or anyone who wants to firm up on the basics. The Stitchery studio comes fully equipped with a sewing machine for each student (you are welcome to bring your own if you like!).
